MUSIC PRESENTATION DAY A HUGE SUCCESS![]()
Of course the wonderful weather, the hard work of the catering volunteers, the uniform presentation and the new musical programs assured that enough people were present. If visiting numbers continue to rise like they have done the past few years we may even need to find a new location for the event in the future.
Kids in the Band proved that they have plenty of musical talent. It’s great to see how these young kids enjoy playing a musical instrument. Of course the group was very excited to perform in front of such a large audience, and it was clear that they left the stage with a feeling of fulfillment.
Jong Beatrix has an extremely lively program this year. Abba’s music is very light and well known, and the young corps members brought an enjoyable performance. The new field percussion instruments have a full sound and the brass complemented this with the happy melodies of Abba. The kids, with an average age of ten years, managed to entertain the audience and had a great time doing it!

After that, the afternoon schedule contained a somewhat unusual item. Our presenter, Richard Kreisel, brought people’s attention to the back of a truck. His words suggested that Beatrix’ new uniform was inside. The smoke machine was pumping at full steam, music sounded through the speakers and the loading platform of the truck slowly lowered. The smoke pulled away and under loud applause the horn sergeant stepped forward in Beatrix’ new uniform. In one word: fantastic! A new partnership with Stanbury Uniforms is a fact with a magnificent new uniform as result.
Following the uniform presentation, Beatrix’ Drum & Bugle Corps did a concert performance of their 2010 musical program: Wicked. The music consists of familiar tunes in a unique Beatrix’ style drumcorps format. The design team has done a fabulous job and the members showed how much they enjoy playing the pieces. The drumcorps atmosphere was definitely present and the crowd showed plenty of appreciation.

The presentation day was undoubtedly a huge success. That evening, there was a party for all the volunteers of the Beatrix Association. We mustn’t forget that without this group of people it would be impossible to host days like these. Thanks go out to everyone who helped make this day a success!
