BEATRIX' 20-05-2010
After years of marching with black Pearl drums, this season Beatrix’ decided to do things a little bit different. The black colour of the drums has made room for a new fresh colour that perfectly matches the new Stanbury uniform.
About a year ago it was announced to the members that in the 2010 season the corps would march in a new uniform, and immediately the search for a new look of the drums started. Keeping the drums black would be a complete mismatch, so the question was: what colour does fit the new Stanbury uniforms? A colour opposite to the one of the uniform, or a colour that’s also incorporated in the uniform design? What colour matches best with the Wicked theme, should it be shiny or even have a pattern in it?

After lots of brainstorming and exchange of ideas with uniform designer Brent Beckers, who is also the Stanbury house designer, the decision was made to make the drums white. This may sound oldschool white, but with a modern touch, namely a matte finish. You may already have seen the white drums live during a performance our on our website. The new look makes a perfect match with the new uniform. Added up, Beatrix’ 2010 has a fresh new look.

Thanks go out to the percussion staff and the volunteers who helped make this all possible. Besides a new uniform and newly coated drums Beatrix’ has chosen to incorporate something in their 2010 show that is unique for Dutch drumcorps. Keep an eye on the website to see what it is!
