PROMENADECONCERT BEATRIX BRASS
On June 10th, Beatrix Brass had a promenade concert on the agenda. The promenade concert is an evening of performances by different artists in a bandstand at the Kerkbrink shopping area in Hilversum.
At 19:15 the entire group (even the drummer!) was ready to start the performance. Only person was missing: the conductor. Luckily he arrived just on time and immediately started waving the first piece, ‘Matrimony’.
The weather was good, and the café terraces were well filled with people. A few old members of Beatrix joined the audience and did not go unnoticed. It is always great to see alumni and old friends in the crowd.
The group had a few new trombone players and they had some challenging parts to play. But the audience gave them confidence they needed by applauding loudly after every piece. Harald’s bass solo in “The farmer’s fair” was also a great success. After an hour of playing the concert was over. That was too bad, because Beatrix brass had plenty more tracks in their repertoire. But they will save them for the next time.
