SCOTT BROWN IN THE NETHERLANDS

This year is the first time Scott wrote the battery parts for Beatrix’. The scores are quite different than what Beatrix’ is used to but the drumline has gotten used his signature and the beats are starting to feel right.

Caption head percussion Mark van Stippent is very pleased with Scott’s visit:

“Last winter I first met Scott and he showed the drumlin his interpretation of the musicality in his written parts. For us it is very important to be able to understand the music we play so that the members can perform it in the way it was meant to. We can now continue this learning process and make some big steps during our last week before Huizen!” Says van Stippent.

Scott has a busy schedule. He will arrive on June 18th and will be with Beatrix’ on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th. On June 21st he will conduct a clinic with the Damiate Band drumline from Haarlem. On June 22nd he will give a workshop up in the north with Majestic’s Peter Vulpenhorst. He will spend the rest of the week with Beatrix’, concluding his visit with the DCN Contest in Huizen on June 26th.
