YOUTH TATTOO KATWIJK

After rehearsal, Jong Beatrix left for Katwijk at 12:30. It was a nice summer day, perfect for a coastal performance. When the corps arrived the members immediately had to change into uniform. Together with a guide from DVS they were brought to the starting point of the street parade. After the street parade Jong Beatrix arrived at the Tattoo field in the middle of Katwijk. The terrain had a wonderful ocean view. But first the kids had a show to perform.

Next to jong Beatrix and Jong DVS, the Jong Floraband from Rijnsburg, Bernard from Amersfoort, Jong Rijmmondband from Schiedam, Jeugdband Adest Musica and big sister DVS also performed. It was the first tattoo Jong Beatrix participated in this year. With great enthusiasm the show was brought; a fine performance. The audience was well entertained and showed their appreciation.

After the show the children had a chance to get a breath of ocean air, have some ice-cream, french fries or fish and have a chat with members of the other bands. Our girls were charmed by a few guys from Katwijk. The guys also enjoyed themselves. At the end of the day it was time for the Finale. The corps and volunteers were thanked and each corps received a certificate and a basket with candy.

Afterwards the corps played the Blijf bij mijn Heer and the Dutch National Anthem, the ‘Wilhelmus’ together. After that everyone Was taken back to the DVS clubhouse to get changed. There was a final chance to have a quick chat with the newly made friends after which it was time to go home again.

Next Saturday, September 11th, it is time for the DCN Finals in Dordrecht. And on September 25th, Jong Beatrix will perform at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium in the DCE CHampionships. “After the Floraband it was time for Jong Beatrix to perform their show and show us what they are capable of. In their so-called ‘drumcorps style’, the youth from Hilversum enters the field while the big front ensemble is getting ready. The Show ‘Abba Rules’ brings the biggest hits of Abba back to life. With the marvellous cologuard uniforms and props this is a fun and recognisable show. Performed with lots of energy, Jong Beatrix puts down a fine show. Two injured members (recognisable by the slings around their necks) did not stand on the side, but marched and played along; well done ladies!"

Last Saturday, September 4th, was a fun and good performance in a sunny Katwijk. We enjoyed your show.
