Last Sunday she left from Schiphol airport, headed for Winterguard heaven. For over five months Danielle will stay in America, where so will follow her dream: to march with an American Winterguard.
She auditioned at the 2011 World Champion with an audition tape. She was selected, and now the most exciting period of her life has begun.
Danielle’s career with Beatrix’ started in 1995 at Jong Beatrix. In 2001 she joined Beatrix’ Drum & Bugle Corps, where she marched until last season. In 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2011 Danielle already traveled to the United States with her corps to perform in the DCI and WGI competition. In April this year she knew it for sure: ten years after she started, she was ready for this next step.
Danielle can be followed through this website. Via the side banner on the right of the page we will try to give you a weekly update. Danielle will also share her experiences from America by posting them on a live blog. Curious about how things go during the winter period in America and how Danielle will improve herself? Surf to our website and stay posted. Off course we, as editorial staff, will also keep in touch with Danielle and keep posting updates.
On behalf of the whole association we wish Danielle the best of luck. We are proud to see that Beatrix’ members can compete in the top and can be part of the best corps in the world to live their dreams.
Update 29/11: Danielle has landed safely in America. She moved in at her host family and shall get some rest and get used to the 8-hour time difference. Next Wednesday and Friday, Danielle will head for the sports hall to practice with other members of the guard.
